Capt. Chad has been on and around the water his entire life.  He grew up on the barrier islands along the southwest coast of Florida, later graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with a degree in Naval Architecture and has lived all along the U.S. eastern coast. Capt. Chad loves to share his experience and passion for sailing, the ocean and its marine environment.
Chad holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain’s License and a U. S. Navy Senior Offshore Skipper Certificate. Before being the captain of Rumbaba, Chad served as a U.S. Navy Submarine Officer onboard a nuclear powered Trident ballistic missile submarine (SSBN). When he was not out to sea with the Navy, Capt. Chad lived aboard his Tartan offshore cruising sailboat.  Chad is certified in First Aid, CPR and Advanced Open-Water SCUBA diving. He has also been a U.S. Navy Sailing Instructor, collegiate varsity rower and sailor, lifeguard and wilderness first aid responder.
Chad’s fun and energetic personality makes it easy to have an awesome day sailing the in U.S. Virgin Islands, exploring the tropical reefs and pristine beaches. Let his enthusiasm and experience be your guide. 
Chad’s wife, Brena, also has a love for the U.S. Virgin Islands' tropical paradise.  Brena’s love and knowledge of nature and snorkeling make her an excellent snorkeling guide.  But, it is her cooking that keeps our business strong! Let us share her delicious recipes onboard Rumbaba for a great day of sailing.  Before managing Rumbaba, Brena was an attorney stateside for 9 years and is originally from Chattanooga, TN. Both Chad and Brena enjoy traveling the world and are avid cruiseshippers, so we enjoy having cruiseshippers! Chad and Brena have a two year old daughter together.

Chad’s First Mate, Lorie, has lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands for over 23 years.  Her warm personality, local knowledge and skill at preparing the meals and drinks onboard Rumbaba make your day one to remember.

Capt. Bobby and Mate Karen are well known for operating Rumbaba before Capt. Chad. Therefore, Bobby and Chad have worked diligently while turning over to guarantee guests still enjoy the exact same wonderful time on Rumbaba. We haven't missed a beat since turning over!
